Inside Our San Antonio Brewery and Pizza Pub
The people, process, and space behind the opening
San Antonio has been on our radar for a long time, and now, two weeks after opening, we are excited to officially be part of the city’s craft beer and restaurant scene. You can find us at 5534 N Loop 1604 W, San Antonio, TX 78249, on the northwest side of town. From the beginning, the goal was to build a San Antonio brewpub that feels true to Pinthouse while fitting naturally into the local community.
This was never about copying our Austin locations. It was about creating a space designed for how people in San Antonio gather, eat, and drink. We partnered with Northstar Construction Group as our general contractor, Kim Lewis Designs for interior design, and Boomtown Design alongside Petrified Design for custom woodwork throughout the building. The result is a space built with intention, from the main beer hall that anchors the experience to the more laid back atrium that offers a different pace.
Like most large scale hospitality projects, this one took time. There were stretches of strong momentum and others where we had to slow down and work through construction challenges, supply chain delays, and the realities of building a full production brewery and restaurant from the ground up. What mattered most was staying focused on getting the details right.
Our internal teams spent months planning the kitchen, service flow, and guest experience so that when we opened our San Antonio brewery and pizza pub, it would reflect the standards we have built over the years. Two weeks in, we are still learning, adjusting, and dialing things in across the board. That is part of opening a new space, and we are committed to improving every day as we settle into a consistent rhythm.
At the center of the operation is our team. The brewery is led by head brewer Andrew, who brings a deep understanding of our process and a clear vision for how the beer program should evolve in San Antonio. The system is designed to produce between 3,000 and 3,500 barrels annually, supporting both the pub and select distribution. Core beers like Electric Jellyfish Hazy IPA and Burro’s Breakfast Mexican Style Lager are already flowing, alongside smaller batch releases and account specific beers like Hill Country Kölsch brewed with nearby partners like the JW Marriott.
This San Antonio craft brewery is built to balance consistency with creativity, giving us room to explore new beers while keeping fan favorites readily available. On the operations side, the entire pub is led by General Manager Rafael Oliva, who has been instrumental in building the team, setting the tone for service, and guiding day to day execution. From the front of house to the kitchen to the brewery, the focus is on creating a welcoming, high quality experience that continues to improve with every shift.
The food program plays a major role in what makes this a true pizza pub experience. Our San Antonio pizza menu features the same hand crafted approach we are known for, with dough made in house, carefully balanced toppings, and a lineup designed to pair naturally with our beer. Guests can expect a full range of pizzas, shareable plates, and options that work for everything from a quick lunch to a full night out.
The combination of a working brewery and a scratch kitchen sets this apart from a typical restaurant or bar. You are getting fresh beer brewed on site alongside a menu built to complement it. The bar program also includes guest wines and non alcoholic options, making this a place that works for a wide range of guests.
Looking ahead, this San Antonio brewpub is built to grow and evolve. The main beer hall provides space for larger groups and gatherings, while the rest of the building offers flexibility for smaller hangouts, events, and collaborations. As we move past these first few weeks, our focus is on consistency, quality, and continuing to earn our place in the San Antonio food and beer community.
If you are searching for a craft brewery in San Antonio, a pizza pub on the northwest side, or a place to meet up with friends over fresh beer and food, we hope you will come spend some time with us. This is just the beginning, and we are looking forward to what comes next.
