On July 1, 2025, we partnered with Green Corn Project, an organization whose mission is to help people with limited access to high-quality, fresh vegetables grow their own organic food gardens.

Green Corn Project’s vision is for Central Texans to have access to affordable, fresh food grown in ways that conserve natural resources, promote self-reliance, and strengthen communities. With the help of community volunteers, GCP installs food gardens for individuals and families in low-income areas of Austin who have limited access to fresh, nutritious food. They also help elementary schools, community service centers, and refugee shelters grow food gardens. Both volunteers and garden recipients receive hands-on education in organic gardening methods. These gardens aim to provide food, education, and a sense of accomplishment and pride for everyone involved in their creation and care.

Since its founding in 1998, Green Corn Project has remained committed to its mission of bringing the benefits of organic gardening to Central Texans. Over the years, they have built a welcoming and supportive gardening community for individuals of all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities who share a desire to give back. GCP believes gardening is a universal language that transcends politics and religion, and that working side by side in the soil is a chance to set aside differences and connect through a shared love of growing food.
